Does anyone out there have facts and information compairing the JD 4200 and the Kubota 2710?
Do you have any personal experience with either?
I live close to a Kubota and a JD dealer and the prices they are quoted me are within $200.00 of each other.

S.,

Try this down on the Kubota and/or JD posting areas, you should get more responses down there. Good Luck.
You might even try looking at the New Holland TC25 or TC29! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mark,

Thanks, I thought that it would be the most neutral in color! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

S.Dickson, I've never been on a JD 4200, but I've got 140 hours on my B2710 and love it. If you have any questions about it, I'll be glad to try to help you if I can.

Have a 2700 and love it--researched all. Search the posts here (incl. archive), and other forums on the net. You will find numerous isssues with the JD4000 series. Also keep an eye out for the number of dissatisfied JD customers, and compare to the same for Kubota (might also review lawn/garden sites for this perspective as well). About 50 to 100 to 1 from what I've seen. JD ain't what they used to be.

If you go about your research in an unbiased manner, you will make the right choice based on your needs and wallet. If you just have to have the green/blue/red/orange, just buy it now and save yourself he time and energy.

Happy hunting!

Good morning out there.
Not what kind of information in which your seeking.
I know of this gentleman who always swore by John Deere, for his first tractor was a 855 than with in ten years he bought a 1050.
He decided to trade his 855 and was convince to look at the Kubota line, ( gee I wonder who did that) and now he owns a Kubota 2710 and the John Deere 1050 sets idle.
Looks like another happier tractor owner,so take your time do your home work also find a dealer that will let you try the tractor out before purchasing.

OOPS you never even mention New Holland.......be prepare.)

Stay safe and be good to yourself.

curious what tractor you bought. I had $ in hand for the 4200. primary reason was JD reputation through the years. then found this forum and did a lot of researching. 200 hours later I am so glad we purchased the 2710. companies cannot rely on tractor reputations from the past. many unimformed prospective buyers may be swayed by great marketing. I have nothing against JD except the 4000 series debacle and a tinge of arrogance with some of their dealers. the whole kubota experience has been outstanding.

At the time I bought my Kubota 2710 the 4200s had a long waiting list, so that helped me decide. After 150 hours I'm very happy with my tractor. A friend of mine has a brand new 4200 with backhoe. Its a pretty machine and obviously heavier than mine. Other than that I don't know how they would compare.
