Kubota turn signals

Hello.....I have a 2009 Kubota RTV 900 that I just purchased. When I turn the left turn signal on the right one lights up and the left one blinks as it should. and when I turn on the right turn signal the left lights up and the right one blinks. Does anyone know if this is how it is suppose to work or has anyone had this issue? Thanks for your help.

Kubota L3560 (new) turn signals operate as yours do. Previous Kubota B3300SU turn signals also the same.

Only a Samurai can understand inscrutable Kubota features.

My M9540 works this way. I think it's a safety feature.

Let's say I'm going down the road with the hazard lights on and as I approach my turn in there is a vehicle behind me. They have seen my lights flashing both sides, if I indicate a left turn the right side now burns steady, similar to a brake light. IMHO they would be more likely to notice this change in light pattern than if the right side just suddenly stopped flashing and the left side continued to flash.

It's the off-highway equipment worldwide standard. You should find this similar on all tractors with turn signals. Our Deeres work the same way. We didn't really understand why when the safety standard came out in the 80's but we complied. It seemed odd to have off highway equipment differ from autos but it could partially be due to braking. Lots of off highway equipment (hydrostatic drives for instance) slow down without wheel brakes needed so it could be a way they determined to indicate both turning and slowing down. With only the flashers blinking there is nothing else to warn of additional slowing.
