I own two Kubota RTV 1100 and 1140 machines, and am trying to find a replacement filter for the Kubota brand transmission oil filters. There are two filters on this transmission. So far I'm having no luck finding a substitute for a hydraulic filter # K7561-14070 which is yellow. The other filter is orange and is used on the intake (suction) side of the transmission. This filter is #K7561-14080 and I was able to find a WIX replacement. The Kubota's price was $18.50 compared to WIX $6.50, so you can see why I'm trying to shop around. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Personally, I'd pony up for the Kubota filters. The risk just isn't worth it...What do you have there, $34k in equipment..Is $10 per machine worth the risk of a destroyed HST? Same goes for the hydro fluid...No TSC stuff for me.

To each his own..Just my .02.

My RTV1100 and my BX23 have never had anything but Kubota filters, hydro fluid and even motor oil. Not taking any chances. Expensive, yes...Worth it..yes, in my opinion. If something should break and everything is as it should be, you'll stand a much better chance of Kubota helping you..Even after warranty.

Thanks for giving me a reality check! You are absolutely correct and I do have a lot of money invested in these machines.
Thanks again!

Trans filters are often quite unique. Hydraulic and engine oil filters? Not so much.

The filter makers just aren't going to gear up for what is, admittedly, a small market. With hydraulic filters and oil filters, there really are only a few "types" based on diameter, thread size, etc.

But trans filters for Kubota don't often show up at even the better maker's sites, such as FleetGuard, Baldwin/Hastings or Wix. These are really good names and reputable companies who back their products well.

But they don't typically produce specialized filters for these Kubota hydro transmissions, which many times have very unique features. To the dealer you go! Or, you can order, online, from Messicks.com
