Nope, GlueGuy, he started in the east (South Carolina) and was headed west through Alabama.

Ohhhh. I think I get it. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif I read "Washington" as in "DC". So he traveled from South Carolina to Washington state on a BX. Woohoo. That's some treck.

If you can get a gearmore kit installed for $750, jump on it. Mine will end up costing me that in parts alone.

When I priced a gearmore for my 2910 it was $850 or so and did NOT include any of the hoses or fittings - just the valves and cylinders. I'm finding that the hoses and fittings are going to be the most expensive part I think.

FYI - this is from the thread in Tractor Customization titled "Going down the TnT path".

The gearmore part number may same you some time.

Next I called Gearmore. They have a kit (TT271-3K) that is supposed to fit [a B2910], but it's $840 and only includes the two cylinders and valve. No hoses or other fittings are included. That was way more than I was willing to pay.

Hyden,
Thanks for the information. I was told that Gearmore had parts, but not kits. I E-mailed Gearmore twice without a response, so maybe they just don't have a kit for my B21.

When I was getting quotes on my B7500, the price range for the Gearmore T&T ranged from $750 to $1250 installed (with a new tractor). As it happened, I got the whole sheebang from the dealer that was quoting $1250 for the T&T. It's just that his prices for the "other" stuff was lower. Package deals you know.

I have been watching this tread for a few days. I have never posted the competed price of my Tip & Tilt project. Here it is. I was able to get the cylinders from TSC. They had a complete catalog of Tisco products.

2 TISCO cylinders
HTL2102 Top Link Cylinder
(2” diameter, 20” long, 8” stroke) $185.70 from TSC
HTL2202 Side Link Cylinder $185.70 From TSC includes MI. Tax.
(2” diameter, 13.5” long, 3.5” stroke)
10 Quick Disconnects $110.00 (4 to the front of tractor, 4 at rear and 2 on valve mounted on rear fender. From Notherntool.com
Misc. Hose Fittings and Hoses $239.00 From HydraulicHoseFittings.Com
This includes 16 1/4 and 3/8" hoses and over 40 different Hydraulic fittings.
I didn't use the gas like Bird, but did have to wait 4 days for order to show up.
New FEL valve from dealer $100.00. He had this valve leftover from a FEL install that already had a valve on tractor.
Total of all $820.00
I did add a second valve ($160.00) and Kubota rear Hydraulic outlet ($90.00). But they were not required to install the Tip & Tilt Valve and Cylinders. 1
I have a lot more on tractor than most will need. But with Quick Disconnects on my Top and Tilt cylinders I can remove them when not needed.
Hope this helps anybody looking for where to get parts.

Probably a stupid question, but.....

My snow blower came with a quick hitch that has a big hydraulic cylinder to raise the big beast. I haven't used it yet but apparently you leave the FEL loader controls on and use that to control the quick hitch hydraulics.
Now here's the stupid question.
Couldn't I rob this cylinder and use it on the top of the 3-pt to give me the tilting feature everyone is drooling about?
Keep in mind I haven't actually seen a TNT.

Re: Probably a stupid question, but.....

Woody,

I'm sure that sort of thing could be done, but then you wouldn't be able to use the FEL when you had that set up. I don't know about others, but when I'm doing box blading, I periodically turn around and "pick up" detritus with the FEL.

Re: Probably a stupid question, but.....

No such thing as a stupid question as far as I'm concerned, woodstock. Thanks to all for the posts. Valuable info to me. Thanks to Ron for detailing his project. I have not gotten any response from the e-mail inquiries to Gearmore and Gannon. Kind of bugs me that some manufacturers post an e-mail "get in touch with us" address, then don't ever check their mail or just ignore it.
It's certainly not like I have money burning a hole in my pocket, but it's kind of strange that I'm ready to buy and can't find anybody to deliver the goods. Just goes to show you what a unique (surely not strange) bunch of consumers we TBNer's are, I guess.

What kind of ends does that cylinder have on it? Are they the same as the ends on your existing top link? And is that cylinder the right length? In other words, it might be possible, but I'm no help because I know absolutely nothing about snow blowers./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Hey, that ain't quite true; I learned on TBN that you can get 'em to go on either end of your tractor; front or rear./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

"detritus" -- Wow, GlueGuy! I thought GlennMac was the only one with a dictionary flowing through his veins! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

If I keep reading this board, I may eventually be inculcated with sufficient vocabulary to constitute a lexis of my own. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

The top link cylinder has a ball on both ends similar to your adjustable top link. The cylinder for snow blower will not have the ball ends. The cylinder that is used to raise snow blower may be too large in diameter to clear lift arms and fittings. On my old Farmal I made an adapter that screwed onto cylinder rod that had ball end welded to it. You may want to add a valve to operate the top link cylinder so the FEL can still be used.

I read your message and just went over the word Detritus figuring you meant Debris. But after reading Harv's response I had to go to Webster's Dictionary to find out if I was right. What an education./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Not only do I learn about tractors. But also the English that I did not learn as well as I should have 50 years ago.

Main Entry: de·tri·tus
Pronunciation: di-'trI-t&s
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural de·tri·tus /-'trI-t&s, -'trI-"tüs/

2 : a product of disintegration, destruction, or wearing away : DEBRIS
- de·tri·tal /-'trI-t&l/ adjective

OK, I will remove all doubt by asking a definitively stupid question ... what the heck is "Top N Tilt" and what would it do for me (other than cost me more money)?

Don,
Basically, it is replacing the manually screw-adjustable top link (top) and one of the lift links (tilt) with a hydraulic cylinders and, control valves. Saves you getiing off the tractor for making the adjustments. It's not such a big deal unless you use "landscape" 3pt equipment frequently. It's especially nice with a box blade since small adjustments in the top link make a big difference in performance. If you are not doing work for hire, yes, I would call it a bit of a luxury...but, for many of us, aren't tractors in the first place?
