Kubota TG1860G

I bought a used Kubota TG1860G lawn tractor in April of this year to mow grass around the front of my house. I used if once and it will not start again. After spending $300 on a mechanic I was informed that the carburetor is bad, and has been discontinued and no parts to rebuild it or carburetor assembly is available. It has a FD590V BS08 Kawasaki engine, does anyone know if there is a suitable substitute for this carburetor? I have heard that John Deere carburetor assembly AM123578 can be substituted and it will work. Does anyone have any information on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
