My 2004 T1870 is having a stalling issue. The engine is occasionally cutting out and stalling. It happens quite predictably as follows:
- starts to happen after the engine warms up (maybe 10-15 minutes
- when I go over the edge of a hill and point nose down (it is fine nose up a hill)
- when I turn abruptly to the left although occasionally also to the right
At first, I thought it was the seat safety switch however that is not it. I discovered that as it is stalling, you can 'recover' it by pulling the choke momentarily. If it were electrical switch, the choke would not affect it.
- It appears to me that it is a fuel issue, not electrical (safety switches).
- I checked the fuel lines back to the tank and they appear to be secured as expected.
1) I am thinking to replace the filter (cheap & easy)
2) What after that? Is there something in the fuel pump or carb that would be affected by incline?
Feedback is most appreciated!
