Anyone have any experience with these? What kind of engines do these have? Local dealer has used one for sale.

Thanks

I bought one new last year and love it. I only have approx. 25 hours on it, but it is a great little mower.

It has a 15 hp. Kohler Courage single cyl engine and it has more than enough power to get through even long thick wet grass without bogging down. 15 hp is plenty power for most lawn applications for mowers of this class, and with the heavy duty hydro tranny you would think it has more HP than it actually does.

The tranny is great, and it climbs steep inclines with ease.

On the downside, the seat is not as comfortable as the one that comes standard on the 1670, and you don't get the rear shocks on the 1570 either, but I couldn't justify the extra $700 bucks for that.

All in all I think it's a great little mower and worth every penny I paid for it.

Well now they have me looking at the newer models, the T2080 with the infinity deck system. It has a 2 cylinder Kohler. I also checked out the X300 JD, with the Kawasaki 2 cyclinder engine. I like the quite engine on the JD have not listened to the Kohler. The Kubota deck is a plus over the JD mulch kit. The JD has 4 yrs / 300 hrs warranty, not sure on the kubota. Kubota is $3620 and the JD is $3000. May try and listen to a Kubota this afternoon, going right by the dealer. If anyone has experiences with the JD mower please reply. I know they've had some issues with the cheaper box store mowers. I have a Kubota tractor so I know about the quality of the Kubota.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
I have a Kubota T1570 that I bought new last year to complement my B7800. It is a nice little machine, plenty of power, and am more than satisfied with it. I have a hard time keeping the ole ball-&-chain off of it. I've never owned a Deere, so I can't say anything about them, but I will sing the praises of orange all day. Every one that I've owned has exceeded my expectations.. Hope this helps, and best of luck.
Pat
