Unfortunately there has been no further word from Matt. Too bad, because his knowledge and advice has been very helpfull. He knows his stuff and has been bang on on his recommendations.

When you say shifting out of gear do you mean slipping back to neutral? Mine was doing that. The linkage to the shifting cable just didn't move far enough. If I adjusted to go into the two bottom positions, it would slip out of the upper two and visa versa. I welded a short extension to the lever and now it moves far enough both ways. The problem I still have is getting it out of gear. If I stop on a hill, I have to shut the engine off to get it out of gear. There's a new pressure relief valve the dealer is selling for a hundred bucks. I would think Kubota would offer that at a big discount as it's fixing a design error (that's why it's necessary).
