I have both, the 500 and the 520, the 520 has some good improvements including more power.

We have had our 500 for several years, more power would be nice. It does everything i want it to do really like it. its small getting around with it works well for us. broke down and bought doors. so it is now fully enclosed. There is a trick or two to adding them to the 500 Pricy but worth it when doing cores in the weather.

We are leaning towards a cab heater and block heater. Our concern is that with such a small engine in the winter its not going to heat very well.

Impressive machine as long as you don't want to go or do anything fast. We bought the plow with it and it moves an impressive amount of snow.

@truckdiagnostics we have the 1100c, and I was considering the block heater until I figured out how to properly use the glow plugs LOL. The heat in ours can get unbearable so you should be fine there. We have it out in low 20's and had to turn heat down. Now looking where you live, I am sure it gets way colder than here in N Florida/S Ga. You are right though this thing is a workhorse and what we need. We love ours and don't need to get anywhere fast, and nor do the kidos LOL!

The kits and what not for it are designed well. there is some funny business when you go and add the cab doors. The biggest thing i do not understand is all the lost room under the hood. You put a windshield on forget about opening the hood regularly. there isn't much that you need to there, brake fluid and that is about it. That is not the point. I am getting close to cutting a hole in the hood so i can fit a box with a lid. You need the space like behind the back seat of a pick up. Otherwise everything ends up in the bed or front seat.

It is amazing what you can fit behind the back seat, underneath of a two door pick up. long as no one trys to move it.

On stepson's new to us 1100C with 2,400 hour on it, hit the glow plugs for 5 seconds and it starts better than a typical fuel injected gas engine. After starting, it runs without any diesel stumble. Amazingly quick cab heater. Converting snow plow to a snow pusher. Pusher should handle cleaning up windrows left from our bigger tractor plow.

Yeah, once I figured out where that sweet spot was, thanks to this group and not the manual, it cranks up great and no stumble at all. Love this forum!

I don't like the prices of the 'Kubota authorized' add on accessories like their winch. Bought one at HF of equal capacity at 1/2 the cost. We have a GS855 4 stroke and it goes like a raped ape if you want it to or creeps if you want that. We had 2 recalls on it, one for the steering and one for the accelerator pedal, both fixed quickly.
