The Gator is a different machine than the 6x6 Polaris. My father has been through four Polaris ATVs in the same time frame I owned my 6x4 Gator. (1) 6x4, (2) 6x6 and (1) 4x4. The tires on the Polaris ATVs are a bit more aggressive and narrow so I can see where the lawn could get torn up. I never tore up any healthy lawn with my 6x4 Gator plowing or otherwise as the tires are less aggressive and wider. It has differential lock but it is engaged with a lever in the cab and used very infrequently. The other comments about turning radius may also have something to do with it. You will not turn on a dime with the 6x4 Gator but I can turn sharper than a pickup truck. I have plowed snow with a pickup and hate the fact I cannot see the plow at all times. Spoiled with the Gator being right on top of what I am plowing.
As for heat, working with my neighbor we built a custom exhaust on the
6x4 Gator to run it through the cab behind the seat and up over the cab for two reasons. 1. Plowing snow is 50% backing up and with the exhaust out the back, it would come right into the cab through the orifice for shifters and cables. With it overhead, the exhaust was always above the cab forward or backward. 2. Heat, my gator does not have the water heat/fan in it and I did not want to spent the extra $500 and give up my glovebox so by running it through the cab it heated the cab just nicely and allowed me to plow in a t-shirt.
Again, I plowed my driveway for 15 years using this method and not saying it is the best for a commercial operation but was a lot of fun. The OP is a Kubota man and would probably be disappointed with green and yellow polluting the orange glow in his shop. My suggestion is still to go with the Orange for your situation.
