My Fords ( 1953 Jubilee and 10 speed Select-o-Matic ) have earned less heavy usage after 60 and 54 years of service. I also need a front end loader to save my 60 year old back and body in general. I'm within 36 hours of ordering a Kubota L5460 HSTC. I want a cab, front end loader, a grapple and considering a 7 foot ENROSSI Sickle bar mower with hydraulic lift. This will require an add on hydraulic controller for the grapple ANY opinion on ANY of this combination would sure be appreciated

Look at the M models before you make the purchase. A lot more tractor, I just built an M6060 on the website for about $53K. Pretty nice build too.

I just stared paying a bit of attention to the M series. Looked at a M5040 the other day and think I'm in love...

The L5460 is very nice and will do all you need...

I was looking at open stations, bare bones type deals and I started off at the B series, moved on up to the L series, and wound up eventually buying the MX5100 instead. The price difference really isn't much and you do get a lot more for your money.

Welcome to TBN from Western Nebraska. From my experience grapples can be very useful.

Really can't comment on the larger series Kubota's since I haven't owned any, but I seem to recall seeing a few posts about issues with the Kubota OEM 3rd function for the FEL. Seems people with the WR Long 3rd function kit are happier on average. Maybe someone with a GL series with the Kubota 3rd function will confirm my recollection. Just something to look into a little more before you decide to go with the Kubota kit. Good luck.

We own an L5740HSTC and M8540HDC and both have their place and of course the L60 Series is the new and improved version. I am having a Kubota factory third function added to my GL, so I hope it works. As mentioned, there were some early problems reported and Rockgod traded his in on a John Deere, but I haven't heard of any problems recently and several have them.

I never have cared for a sickle mower though we use one occasionally, so I can't really comment on the model you are using, ours is a Massey Ferguson 1300.
