Kubota product design on some models just sux!

i just ordered an MX5400 which will be my fourth tractor. The first was a 8N, second a Kubota l3170 and my lastest a NH TC35D.

Both the 3710 and NN have tilt steering wheels
The NH has the loader joystick on the fender not on the loader.
The NH has two pedals for the hydro transmission

Why does Kubota still have the antiquated rocker pedal for HST units? I didn't buy a HST unit this time due to that.
Why does Kubota not put tilt steering on all models. On the MX 5400 you can get it with a cab but not without the cab. Makes no sense to me.
Why do they put the joystick on the fender on some models and not on all?
Some of the larger MX4800 does not come with extendable lift arms but the 5400 does.

Is Kubota behind the times or what drives these crazy decisions???

From personal experience, I find the quality of Kubota far superior to that of NH.

With that being said, yes - I don't agree with some of the model limitations, but would I rather have a more reliable machine? Yes. Would I rather have ease of getting parts and service? You betcha.

It's a trade off.

To me, a Kubota is what sets the bar for other manufacturers.

But everyone has the right to their own opinion, and I totally respect that.

Not a knock on Kubot at all, great tractors i just bought one. The limitations on what you can get just make no **** sense to me.

If it makes you feel any better, I prefer standard shift. I learned to drive with a stick and currently all my vehicles are stick.

I'd love to buy a brand new Ford F350 diesel with a stick... that ain't gonna happen... makes no sense to me.

But to marketing and sales, it makes all the sense in the world. I'm 1% of the population that likes to row gears and be more in control.

Kinda look at this way...look at GMC etc. pickups different models means different options depends how much you wish to pay,some tractor companies offer Build Your Tractor...$$$'s.

Yes it is! My old Kubota had tilt steering and was not the Grand L. My NH has tilt and joystick on fender, not a high end model also. We should at least have the options to have those. I would have bought a Grand L but I don't need a cab. There should be more options! Kubota is a **** good machine and the market leader I would have expected more purchasing options from such.

Grand L models are available as ROPS tractors. If your NH had tilt steering it was most certainly a deluxe model. I was working at the dealership when the first TCs came off the truck and I still work for a NH/Kubota dealer.

MX is built to have a lot of capability without frills and to pass those savings on. Love mine.
