Kubota pin-type QA?

Looks like what I have... that's a heavy duty bucket in the photo...mine has a toothbar. The Kubota QA IS heavy duty... never had a problem with mine.

I like the pin type QA on the LA403 on the B3030 because it is lighter weight than the skid steer type QA. Add to that the weight of the weld-on plate that attaches to the bucket, or a slightly heavier QA bucket, and you've taken up a bit more of the FEL capacity.

The ATI skid steer type QA that I could have gotten was actually quite a bit more expensive. The Kubota pallet forks were $750, so not too much more expensive than other light weight skid steer type forks that I found. In addition, most manufacturers now make BOTH QA and pin-on versions of their attachments, so you just order the pin-on version. And, a lot of skid steer type QA implements are pretty heavy duty, so you have to do a lot of research to find attachments that are as light as possible for the smaller LA403 & 402.

RonJHall has quite the arsenal of pin-on attachments for his pin-type QA on his LA402.

For the L3400, the only Kubota QA option is the standard skid steer type, and that's definitely the way to go on that FEL.

my ATI SS QA on the b3030 wasn't that expensive. I use the bucket, grapple, 3k forks, and PHD on it. The weight isn't ideal, but hasn't really hurt either. And I can use all that stuff on my new L.

I'm hoping the 'inconvenience' of not having skid steer QA type attachments, and the thought of having to buy all new stuff should I want to move up, will keep me from moving up to a bigger machine. :D

It was all part of a master plan to keep out of the tractor market for a while longer than 3 years, like the last time. ;)

good point! It's definitely making the decision to buy bigger easier :D

Don't get me wrong, b3030 is a great tractor, and if I weren't doing such heavy duty work - turning forest into landscaping, etc I wouldn't upgrade. In fact, I'll almost certainly keep my 3030 - its too good to give up at used prices for now.

If you're buying new, I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the skid steer style quick attach on the FEL. It makes it so easy to swap between buckets, forks, etc... and allows you to use ANY skid steer style implement. I've been very happy with this setup on my 3240.

I have the QA on my new GL 3540/724 fel. It takes me 20 seconds to switch from my bucket to forks, a dream come true!

TT,
You asked for pics of Kubota pin type QA system. Attached are some of mine. Keep in mind these are the MTach pin type QA. I have been very happy system. Tough, strong, no problems. I use mine in an "AG Enviroment". 1200 to 1500 lb. haylage bales through ice, snow and muck. You do have to get off the tractor to put the pins back in after you have picked up the new implement.
Some on this forum have complained about loosing pins and keepers, I never have even when moving heavy brush and slash.
My dealer told me he would weld on the "female" connection of the Kubota QA to any implement I wanted free of charge. Works for me!
Good Luck
Dave
