Kubota M7040 & Moldboard Plow

I use a single moldboard with L3000DT and it does fine.

I pull a JD 3X16 trailer plow with my M7040. Been plowing untilled ground for two years and it does fine in 3rd gear with FWD engaged.

I have plowed in 4th gear but it really lugs the engine down when you hit a hard patch of ground.

After two crops of buckwheat and winter rye 4th gear plowing is a snap.

A Ford 101, 3 bottom, 14" plow doesn't slow down a M7040 at all - even in ground that has not been touched in thirty years. A 16" should not be that much different.

I know that , but does he have these tires and not R-4's. Can't plow with R-4's.

I know this is and old thread but I was searching for something.

I guess I'll have to stop plowing since all I have are R-4's

I would say that you will be fine with the M7040 and 3 16s. The M9540 did great in 4WD with an International 710 with 4 16s, I did add rear wheel weights to reduce slippage. I was impressed with the performance. Here is a pic of the plow. Another pic using the disk. Sorry about quality. (cell phone)
