Is a loader on a 2wd L3010 worth the money or should I save it for a new tractor?

dwighop,
4WD does really help the efficiency of the loader, but if you are going to use if for handling loose material on reasonably flat terrain, it should work out well. It is pretty difficult to back up a slope with a loaded bucket in 2WD unless you are on a hard, dry surface. In short, it all depends on your anticipated usage. Elaborate a little more and the fine folks here will be able to assist you better.

If you anticipate getting a new machine soon, I would wait. I just don't think a loader on that size tractor without 4 wheel drive would do that well. I've forgot to put mine in 4 wheel drive and it was evident very quickly.

I'll second Steve's observation. When I have used the loader in 2 wheel drive on my L3130, it is readily apparent that 4 wheel drive makes a huge difference getting into and out of a dirt pile. If you don't have to wait too long for the new tractor, the loader money should probably go there.

Also, a dealer told me the beefed up axle on the 4 wheel drive takes the abuse of heavy loads on the front a lot better. I learned not all dealers know what they are talking about, but this makes sense to me.
