The Kubota saves the day again. No one ever around to help lift except for the 'bota. A loyal friend. Engine is safe in the garage, thanks to the Kubota. Side view of the most expensive and fragile thing I will likely ever lift with the Kubota. J

Looks similar to the engine I pulled out of my '74 VW Thing.
Aircooled horizontally opposed 4 cylinder? I trust it is more reliable than my Thing's engine.....?

Oh yeah, I hope so. This one is 360 cubic inches and makes 205 horsepower at 2700 RPM. It is built from "certified" parts. It is essentially a hot rodded Lycoming IO-360. It has high performance fuel injection, it has been balanced, blue printed, the cylinders flowed and ported on the bench and has been modified for continuous inverted flight. About the only thing it has in common with your "Thing" engine is that it burns gasoline.
I kinda wish I had a Thing. Those were fun, I built a few VW engines up once, one for a Ghia convertable and another for a Blue Hippie Bus, it would pop wheelies and was fun on the beach. Those are approx 100 cubes, well, the Ghia was 1860 and the bus was a 2180 with dual carbs. J

Kevin, it is going into an RV7A. Hey, guess what, I had it built by a shop in Canada. It got hung up on the border but it finally made it. Yippee. J

Ok, so, quit teasing its going in a.......
Anyway, beautiful engine! and the botas got a good look to. Kinda partial to the orange and yellow myself, wifes bike yellow(after she high sided it) my bike yellow (Duc)
and the silly english sports car yellow/polished aluminium.
Still havta finish the flying lessons 53hrs 3airport/instuctors guess I should just go somewhere to finish.
Do you have a pic of what shes going in? If you have to, put the bota in the background. Will I have to look for it in july at Osh?

Pete, that oughta be easy with your tractor. I lifted an entire 454 Chev. engine with the automatic transmission attached over the grill and into an '84 Suburban with my B2710. But that was about the maxiumum weight and height I could get with my tractor./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I don't think I'd have tried it if that engine had been as valuable as Trescrows airplane engine./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
