Kubota L5740 3 Point hitch arm fall off

now 2011 and having same problem with snap rings breaking on my 3 point hitch.

Replaced shaft and few other parts in 2009.

There is a sway in the 3 point hitch with snow blower attached wondering if this is problem.

I have about 120 hours on my 2010 L3940, & haven't encountered this so far. Many of my hours have been bush hogging, & when not I almost always at least have something "riding" on the 3PH (the bush hog, box blade, disc). I'm curious to find out what your solution is.

You previously said your mechanic figured the lift arm was "sloppy" and you got replacements from Kubota, but still have the same problem. Maybe the original arm wasn't sloppy after all, maybe the shaft is worn and maybe it's something else like the snap rings. It's time to figure out precisely what is out of tolerance. Losing that arm at the wrong time could be quite dangerous and cause major damage. Kubota should be able to provide the specifications for the splined shaft, the arm and the snap ring... dimensions, tolerances, etc. Either the installation is wrong or some part(s) are not within tolerance. You mentioned "sway". Do you use the adjusters on the lower links to tighten up the sway? Couldn't guess whether any parts out of spec came that way from the factory or were subject to unusual wear at some point, but it really doesn't make any difference... you're eventually going to wound yourself or the tractor if it's not fixed properly.

Something isn't right, there shouldn't be much or any end load on that snap ring unless the pivot ball on the arm is seized or tight.

My L5030 hitch is identical, never had a hint of trouble, use the hitch all the time, 1300 ish hours on it now. My 7 ft blower slams side to side but I have the sway limiters pinned as tight as I can. I transport on a rough road at about 20 mph with the blower on for a 15 mile round trip a few times a month the last 5 years, loader slams around, blower jumps and slams on the bumps, arm has never moved.

Is something catching the snap ring and prying it off as the hitch rotates up and down? Something ain't right!
