Kubota L5030 with no power

Is it an HST or GST?

Did it suddenly start having no power?

What maintenance items have been performed since it lost power?

HST and I havent used it in a long time. It has spent its life with a Harley Rake behind it 90 percent of the time. My landscape crew probably would never notice when it lost power. That rake doesnt draw a lot of power from the tractor. It has a loader on it too and is a cab tractor.

I am certainly no authority on the subject but it has good compression, does not have restricted intake or exhaust, is not reported to have low oil pressure or high temperatures, and has plenty of fuel, then about the only things remaining are either a bad injector pump or incorrect pump timing. It is mentioned that one dealer reshimmed the pump. The pump timing is done via shims so I wonder if it was somehow determined to be incorrect and was changed. Low power can be caused by retarded pump timing, but you would think the dealer would know how to set it correctly. I guess we can assume the injectors were also tested although this was not mentioned.

It is mentioned that the pump was checked. Did the shop have the means of properly checking it, or did it go to a pump repair shop, or ....?

I have an L5030 that often pulls a 6' bush hog through very thick brush and weeds 5-6 feet tall, so this should not be a difficult task.

I wish Kennyv would jump in. I would bet he would have some more ideas.

Keep us posted on what you find.

I would check the fuel lines maybe even replace them and visually inspect the fuel tank for debris.

I would visually inspect the air intake all the way to the intake manifold and maybe change the flexible hose between the air filter and the manifold(the hose could be collapsing under load).

Barring a mechanical issue it could be that the injector pump make needs bumped up a bit(suspect when you say it never black smokes, diesels will black smoke a bit when under heavy load).

It sounds like a fuel starvation issue to me.

I have a L4400HST and use a 6 foot Rotary cutter with no issues.

I have seen loader quick connects cause a tractor to be "down on power". A hydraulic line is somehow blocked or not flowing freely, thus loading up the hyd pump and robbing engine power, especially when one attempts to turn rpms up.
