Kubota L48 Rear Axle Broke...Looking for discontinued part...or solutions

Most any competent fab shop can weld it back together and heat treat it too. Just cannot believe the axle is NLA.

I just checked Messicks. Does NOT show discontinued. Just pricey.

I quit buying anything from Messicks a long time ago. My local dealer or Coleman's in Kansas City and Coleman's is much better priced on shipping as well.

Looks like the spline end and hub end are both still good; so could be annealed, cut, machined new center section, and welded/ re heat treated. A bit labor intensive but certainly doable by a competent shop.

Certainly would be cheaper to find a salvage one from a junkyard

Could you be more specific?

It’s NOT clear what this link is pointing to that is under $200 and is what the OP is looking for.

The axle shown at Friday Parts for $209, is not the right part no. for the OP’s machine.

The same thing happened to my L48. I was pushing into a pile of dirt. Trying to get it apart and it is a very bad design, they drilled into the end of the axle and that weakened it severely..

I have also been searching for days and can not find one for sale?

Anybody know how to get the pillow blocks for the Axle case out of the frame?
