Kubota L4310 shift problem

Just acquired a Kubota L4310 Hst, the problem i am having is the transmission will not shift into low range,,works great in high range,,when shifting into low I can feel it go in but it will not stay,,I can hold pressure on the shift lever and it will pull but I can feel it trying to jump out,,have not really looked at it yet,,is there any adj there,,any help appreciated,,the cover is missing,,what is the shift pattern???all the way forward for Hi and back for med and low????. the man I got from neglected to tell me all all this and when I was looking at it it was getting drk and thunderstorm bearing down, I probably would have passed on it but a deal is a deal..
