It's been a while since I last flushed a vehicle (just too much to do with my house build) but here is how I always approached it:
1. First off I flush, not drain and fill. I do this by running a garden hose until it runs nice and clear through the entire system. It often helps to pull the Tstat to do this. I capture the early stuff and recycle as required, but once it starts running pretty clear, i just let it run down to the storm drains.
2. The system capacity is always listed.
3. Once you have flushed it, drain as much as you can and seal it back up except the fill ports.
4. Refill with 100% antifreeze until you have put in roughly half the total system capacity in antifreeze (4.35 qts in this case)
5. Any remaining space gets topped off with water
6. Run the engine and get it warm to get the air out of the system. Top off with water.
7. You should have as close to a 50/50 mix as possible.
I'm not going to argue about distilled vs tap water. Feel free to argue amongst yourselves...
