Comparison Kubota L3540HST vs. LS R4041H

   / Kubota L3540HST vs. LS R4041H #11
The LS has more hp, weight,
Any advice?

... More hp, , better loader lift ,

You are NOT comparing apples to apples.

You need to look at the L4240 or L4740. THEN, HP, loader lift, weight, etc are ALL very close.

Obviously will probabally cost more, but you would get a TRUE comparison. And if you were even considering the 3540, why did you start looking at a LARGER LS instead of one similar the the 3540???? Maybe something like the R3039???? And perhapse that would be less $$$ than even the 4041 or 4047:thumbsup:

And when comparing, I am not sure what you mean by "it has more extras"??? And you mention a better warranty. What is the warrenty on the LS?

Just an example. If I want to get the most that I can get for say 25k. That is the type of comparison I think that he is making, not size, hp or implement quality . Now quality of implements is in question and opinions of the tractors is just that, an opinion.

I think that the LS comes std with 2 rear remotes, skid steer attach, extendable lower links on the 3pt hitch where as I think that those things are optional on the Kubota.

I understand the price point comparison. And figured that is where he was going. BUT...IF he was content and liked the 3540, why not look at a comparable LS and save even more money??

And it is all in what he wants. Does he want as meany delux features as possible, or....does he want the absolute most machine for his money? Because IMO, the grand L kubotas are NOT the way to get the most machine for a given $$$ because of all the features.

Just giving my thoughts, so take them for what they are worth.

You do raise a good point about the implements though. If it were me, I'd compare JUST tractors and their prices. THEN throw implements into the equation. That way you know for sure the true cost difference of the tractors. He didnt mention what the attachments were, and I am not saying it is the case, BUT, if the LS dealer sells a cheaper implement, and he is pricing a package with say 5 or 6 attachments, there is a pretty good price difference between 6 woods or landpride attachments vs something like 6 KK implements. Just saying

Sounded like the OP pretty much had his mind made up when he posted anyway.

True, so why do these people post anyway? Just to try to make themselves feel better about their decision?

If it works for them, that is all that matters. Both are good machines. ;)

Probably just to share information, I've done it only to realize the OP lost interest days ago. Of course when I first joined I posted my advice on a thread that was several years old.:eek:

I'm sure both are good machines.

Enjoy your new tractor! It does not matter what we say, as long as you are happy with the decision you made, that is all you have to live with. Philip.

Like I tell everyone, sit on them and then decide for yourself. I know there's no way I would go to LS now that I have some seat time on my 4240 but the same is true about switching to a 4400. But is the LS R4041H more comparable to the L4400 or L4600 than the GL line? Never seen any LS tractors or dealers so I don't know.

Well you got a lot of opinions on here, which is both good and bad. I just signed my contract. I have been looking for one year and truly finalized what I wanted, so I settled on the 2012 GL3940HST, 4WD, with a bucket for $25k. I know there was a price hike but negotiate.

I sell both an LS built New Holland and Kubota. There is a place for both, but there is absolutly no question that the Kubota is the better tractor. The quality and care that goes into the engineering is vastly different. LS is a fine economey tractor, but its a far cry from a Kubota, Deere, or the old ISM New Hollands.
