So, to make the arms go up, you work the loader and the three point linkage or just working the loader will make the arms go up?

Normally the loader Spool/Valve; the plumbing is High pressure goes into the loader valve labeled "P"... stands for pump (high pressure input) and "T" stands for tank (low pressure return to reservoir) There is also, "PB" for Pressure Beyond (high pressure to power your 3 point hitch). There is also 4 port for the lift and curl, those should not be the problem. Can you confirm that the loader valve is plumbed correctly?

I should have mentioned that the loader is a lewis landlugger 45Q not Kubota. Lewis inform me it is the wrong loader for the tractor, should be a 38Q, however since reversing 2 pipes from the Kubota diverter valve it now works fine .With the div valve in the non loader position and the HCV in the raised position I can power up the link arms using the loader valve, but have to lower them with the HCV in the normal way. I now think I have dismantled the top cover and HCV unnecessarily and intend to rebuild it tomorrow replacing seals as nec , I will then completely disconnect the loader and hope that rectifies the problem and proceed from there.The spool valve cons are not marked in any way but as the loader now works correctly I think the cons must be right. Have now rebuilt hcv and top cover ,came to the conclusion that fluid must be shortcircuiting through loader spool valve, which turned out to be correct because I found another position on the spool valve which blocks the path of the fluid and enables the 3pt linkage to function normally, so it appears that the only thing that was wrong was 2 pipes from div valve to spool valve were wrongly connected. Loader now works fine and with spool valve in locked position and diverter valve in correct position, the linkage also works fine.Now to have a look at 4wd ,oh yes and power steering
