I am looking for some help in troubleshooting a rear remote issue I am having. I have a 7 ft. pull type disc with a double acting cylinder on it to raise and lower the transport wheels. The first time I used this implement, the wheels would raise and lower just as they are supposed to. As I continued to use the disc, the cylinder began to extend slower and slower. After using it for about 1 hr, the cylinder will not extend to raise the disc off the ground. If I let the tractor cool off for approx. 30 minutes, the cylinder will go back to working, just not very fast. All other hydraulic functions work as normal, including the loader and 3 pt. I checked the level of the fluid and changed the fittings on the end of the hydraulic lines going to the cylinder. I have also changed out the cylinder on the disc and this problem still exists. Any ideas as to what might be happening?

Humm, sounds like you did the correct trouble shooting and yet your still having same issue. The only other solution from my opinion would be a bad hyd cylinder , re-place it? I'm interested too.

Lines are new and the cylinder has been replaced. I took the valve for the remote off and didn't notice anything that would restrict flow. I am at a loss on what to try next. Maybe new female QD's?

Hopefully JJ will chime in but the only thing I can think of is testing the pressure coming out of the remote.

Re-connect the QD's or replace.

Can you pull relief pressure on the cyl either extend or retract?

I have a gauge. Next time i use the disc and get the tractor hot I'll check the pressure. Hopefully it will be this weekend if we don't get anymore rain.

Finally got to test the pressure a week or two ago. When checking the remote port for extending the cylinder, the pressure topped out at around 2450 psi. When I checked the port for retracting the cylinder, i got the same pressure reading. The only difference i noticed was when was checking the pressure on the retraction port. When I moved the remote handle the opposite direction to release the pressure, it would go down slowly. Not quickly like it did on the extension port. Any idea what might be causing this and could this be the root of the problem?

You might try another set of QD's.

One of them might be hanging up.

Or use straight pipe coupling

I am not running a L3240 but am running an L4400 so location or knob may be different. Do not know if this is akin to what you are describing. Do you have a speed adjustment under the seat between your legs for the 3 point lift speed? Perhaps turning the adjustment wheel from one side to the other will free up the arm movement if it gets sluggish or stuck. My adjustment sits in the center where I set it when new and I have not had the problem myself so have not tried this "fix."
