Buying Advice Kubota L305

One of the local comercial nurseries is selling a Kubota L305,(circa1978-1985) 3 cylinder, 30Hp, two speed 25 Hp PTO, with 970 Hrs, (probably on a on a rebuild) and a backhoe for $10,000. It looks rough, and well used ( I am thinking about going back and getting a few photos to post later) and I am sure it has been used hard. I thought it was kind of high, but with a backhoe, maybe not. I haven't stopped to talk, just took a quick look on the way home from the feed store.
This would be my first tractor, and not interested in a lot of wrench time. or rebuilding. I think the local Kubota dealere would check it out for a couple hundred bucks, but being a comercial unit would it be worth even spending the time and money or just keep looking? Any advice would be appreciated.

Dennis, this seems quit a bit high for a rough condition tractor which likely saw a lot of stops and starts. Even though the hours are not high the age is a factor that I could not get over. I would think about it if the price were around half that for a machine of this age. JMHO

Thanks for the advice. I went back and took a second look. I think I will pass. It is in rougher condition than I thought.

I lost interest in that machine when I read 'local commercial nurseries'. It seems to me when the people using the equipment (tractors, airplanes, staplers, etc...) don't own the equipment, they take far less care of it. E.G. it's beat upon.
