2016 Kubota B2650
So at the last minute before making the purchase, I went back to the Kubota dealer just on a curious whim, to ask if they would take my PJ trailer in on trade. To my surprise, they said yes they would. So now that allows me to go bigger tractor and retain close to my out of pocket as I would have before with the BX25D.

I drove the L2501 with a BH77 on the back, ag tires. 525 loader. I really like it except the backhoe seat is incredibly tight and would need some fabrication to fix it for my size.

Deere dealer asked if I had made up my mind and I told him I was going orange. He said he wanted another shot at the deal, but I told him since he dont take trades............to which he now says he will take a trade???

I have the quote from Kubota, now waiting for one from Deere for a 3033r with 748a hoe and whatever the model of standard loader is. Gear drive

If they come close, which I doubt they will as green is usually a premium, which would you prefer?

I'd go with whichever dealership has the best reputation, in your area, of their service department.

A great price is very good... backing up the product after the sale is your long-term decision 'deal maker'.

I see two big difference off the bat, gear vs. PowrReverser or HST transmission and 8HP. Will those two items make a difference to you?

The 8hp is not really that important, just trying to get a comparable chassis size. I would prefer straight gear like the Kubota, but Deere has the power reverser and that's as close as they come. Deere also has more gear selections.Kubota does not have a dpf that requires regeneration every 75 hours or so. That dpf makes the deere worth a lot less money IMO, as if one were to be ready to put it away when regen is needed, it'll take another minimum of 15 minutes to wait for regen to complete and from what I hear, it best not be near highly flamables when going thru the regeneration. I had a dpf equipped pickup and can attest to the exhaust temp extremes when regenerating.

The Deere would have to go to a dealer an hour away for dealer required service under warranty as the local service dept is 100% inept. Kubota dealer service dept is mostly unknown as no-one has ever mentioned anything about them either way. The only experience I had with them was on a used semi truck I bought from the dealer that the "mechanic" could not get running. I bought it for scrap price as I could not run it or drive it, but in a short time, I had it running and drove it home. The "mechanic" should have figured out the simple issue, however, he is not a truck mechanic so.............

We'll see hopefully today where the Deere stands on price. I really dont think I care which one as both brands are very highly thought of in my area. Kubota may even be just a bit more popular in the compact sizes, and there are no used Kubotas available as there is even a waiting list for used at the Kubota dealer. Deere I can buy used, though not a great selection.

The non-selling deere dealer will likely not prioritize any warranty work you need (since you didn't buy the tractor from them.
Don't worry about the regen delaying putting the tractor away. You can abort the regeneration at anytime and wait for it to regen the next time you run it (or force it to regen). These delay and force functions are standard in botas now and I'm sure deere is the same. The "budget" brands may not have these features? Not sure.
The poor service dept would be a significant concern for me. I would not count on thw next dealer down the road being helpful. There have been some real horror stories on TBN about this (deere is probably better than some other brands though).

This is a good point that I should have mentioned. The deere dealer down the road is the same dealer group, just one of their many locations. So with that, I think they will be fine with the other dealer selling. The Deere dealer network has now I think near 15 store in the region? However, warranty would be the only work they would see on this tractor.

The Kubota dealer is all by itself, but is so good at what they sell, they more than hold their own competing with the multi-store chain dealers of other brands. The LS dealer which I have no locals does not want to sell a tractor. Mahindra does, but they have no presence here.....yet.

the Kubota hoe is vastly better than the Deere one. Go put eyes on it, the fit.. finish.. design of the BH77 is much nicer.

Need to know what you plan to use the tractors for....

I live neAr you Deezl, and I share your opinion of the local John Deere dealer. The parts dept is the only decent part of that dealer operation. I have bought a UTV,a Z turn mower, and a couple of implements from the Kubotas dealer, Pacific Tractor, and have had good results with both service and parts dept. Like most Kubota dealers in this area, they don't budge much on price, but their product is excellent, and commands the higher price.
In the long run, if you like both products equally, I think the Kubota will offer less headaches after the sale. I was surprised to read your comments that LS didn't want to sell you a tractor, I had the opposite experience with them, though I couldn't vouch for the service dept, as it's never been back. I did have a leaking o ring the first month I had it, but they came out and fixed it onsite. Not trying to push LS though, I have both JD and Kubota machines here, and they both have proved themselves as tough and reliable machines.

...waiting to hear what the bottom line prices are. :dance1: I would be tempted to go green if the price is right.
