I'm servicing my old L235 and changing out the hydraulic/tranny fluid and the filter.

I drained it from all four ports (front tranny case, rear tranny case, and both rear wheel housings).

Manual calls for capacity 24 liters but I've put in at least 27 liters at this point and am still not seeing anything on the level gauge. My level gauge is in good condition / readable. Prior to draining it, I could easily see fluid level inside of the gauge (appeared to be overfilled also).

Normally the manual would indicate if additional fluid needed for certain operations such as a filter change.

What am I missing here? Do I need to work the clutch? Run the engine for a bit to move fluid around?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
