Found a local listing for a Kubota L2201 with a bushhog for $2700. Owner hasn't gotten back to me on the hours on it yet. Thoughts on this price?

I'm in the process of finishing a tiny house on a piece of property that's roughly 9 flat acres.
It was bush hogged last year so there's some growth, but shouldn't be any trees larger than an inch or so in diameter. I would like to have a small garden to feed me and my family. In the future a one acre market garden.

So here's my question: Should I go with a subcompact package deal from a dealership or try and search around for a used model?

I've noticed used models are hard to find with a FEL and I would need to buy some implements separately (cheaper with a package?)

Caution on this potential L2201 tractor purchase.

You are researching a forty (40) year old tractor that was in production only three years. You may be considering the one unit of this model still operating in Alabama.
Spare parts will probably be zero.

No Loader. Probably only 2-WD meaning OK for mowing but low traction for garden tasks, such as hilling.

Manual steeting. May be OK for you on a light tractor, not for me at age 72.

Traditional clutch and gear transmission. Do you have experience operating same? PTO probably coupled directly to tractor engine.

Determine if you can remove mower PTO shaft from tractor. Tractor and mower may have been joined for fifteen years and the union immovable.

How are the tires?

How proficient are you as a mechanic? Do you have metric tools?

$500 strictly as a learner and kitchen garden tractor. L2201 should operate a 48" light duty garden PTO-powered, forward rotation, Roto-Tiller admirably. Would pull a trailer well.

Is it grey market? Can you get parts from the Kubota dealer? How many hours on the clock? I just sold a Misubishi D2350 - very similar to that tractor and definitely grey market. It had a front loader but no mower. It had about 2200 hours and had been well maintained. Everything worked, almost new tires. Buyer offered $3900. I accepted.
