Kubota L 3750

I have recently begun repairs to the transmission of a Kubota L 3750. The manuals are on order and would like to know if there are any particular gremlins to beware of. The Hydraulic filter wasn't changed since 1997 and the tractor doesn't move foreward or backward, but the lift arms are working well.
Any special tools or guages to look for? Engine seems to run strong.
