I'm looking to purchase a used kubota B series and I'm getting confused on the variations of hydrostatic transmissions. I've seen the basic HST but also HSE and HSD. Can someone explain please.
Thanks,
John

I think HSE stands for the 2WD version while HSD refers to the 4WD model. I haven't seen this distinction on the newer B series, only the older ones (i.e. B7100 HSE).

Thanks for the help. What you said makes good sense. yes I have been looking at older models...2400 and 1750.
Thanks again

The other option you will see on the B series is HSDB which stands for hydrostatic transmission 4wd with bi-speed turn.

As other posts have indicated, the "D" suffix indicates 4wd and the "E" suffix indicates 2wd.

For 4wd, you may see HSD or HST-D.

For 2wd, you may see HSE or HST-E.

For manual gear drive tractors, you may see the "D" or "E" suffix (such as B7100D or B7100E).

Hope this helps,

Kelvin
