Kubota Grand L series

I can be in the "bigger is better" camp on many issues but not necessarily tractors and implements.

I work mostly in the woods, so maneuverability is high in my priorities.

As you go up in tractor and loader size the places you can "get to" are reduced by about the square of tractor size.

A heavier frame tractor is great but a dimensionally larger tractor can be a hindrance.

How much area are you working? Will you be driving over turf? What implements will you use most?

Agree generally and we looked at all the GL models. We were lucky to find a lot one Sunday with a good cross section and went from one to the other without being bothered by a salesman. We have plenty of woods and there wasn't enough size difference from one to the other to make a real difference. The difference we saw and we originally started looking at a B3200 was in going between B, L, and M and not so much within a series.

I do agree with the oft mentioned "bigger isn't always better, sometimes bigger is just bigger", but from what we saw there wasn't enough size difference to matter. Now we can use our L where we can't get our M, but that is quite a bit difference in size.

You have a total of 41 replies to your three threads. I doubt more input is going to provide inspiration. You need to consider your finances and make up your mind.

You certainly have done more research than the average consumer considering a tractor purchase. Keep in mind the lightest Grand L series tractors are 3,000 pounds. Seems like a lot for the needs you have expressed, with mowing being the primary usage. Certainly all the bells and whistles on the Grand L's are nice but you pay for them.

Have you considered the Kubota B3300SU / 1,900 pounds? $9,000 less.

Yep, I tend to research stuff to death. But when I buy something I usually stay with it for a long time, and you buy the wrong machine...and you'll pay if you just must change.

Sounds to me like you need something wide, with a very low CG.
Not sure that the Grand Ls are the optimum machines for that MO.
