with one of these - i like the center discharge system and the hydraulicaly operated hopper. A little pricey at 10K but curious if anyone's had any issues with the discharge / collection system on this mod

tks in advance

I've never seen the G2160-R48S in action, but I have an older Husqvarna CT150, a nice. but slightly underpowered center discharge mower. A great thing about the rear ejection mowers is leaf collection. You just remove the collection bag and pull a boxed-in trailer...the leaves shoot right into it, no fancy add-on equipment needed.

Check-out the high lift UK version of the G2160-R48S: YouTube - Kubota Diesel Ride On G21 NZ.

tks , especially for the link -

leaf collection was exactly what i was thinking of, for it - was hoping to hear what you said, i figured the straighter and short path, without any turns would make it easier to move larger volume of clippings

to bad it's only offered with a 48" deck, but i could live with that

Just like the JD X700s.

When one gets in the $10000 for a garden tractor neighborhood it's time to look at the Sub compacts.

no argument on that and that's what i keep coming back to - i was just curious how well the concept worked

honda offers the same thing in their lawn tractor (not available here in the US), with an electric cylinder operated hopper, nearly identical to that kubota, for $4500 in the UK. backing their VAT tax out, brings it under 3500

but it's not worth it to me to go thru the hassles of importing one

Have a G2160-60 , same tractor with 60 inch side discharge deck. I like the tractor and I think it will last longer then the GR2100 and GR2110 that replaced it. Do not know how the rear catcher works but I have a BX2230 with the 60 inch deck with the blower and bagger on the rear. Around here I need the blower to pick up the heavy, thick grass and leaves in the fall. Not sure how good the rear shootingdeck is in that deparment but the tractor is quicker and more nimble than the BX is. With the prices going up that high (paid 7000 two years ago) on the G2160 a BX may also work for you if you have other tasks.

only reason i'm interested in that center discharge, our yard has a lot of azaela beds with borders - it'd be so much easier to be able to cut up to them from either side, time saving wise

and i suspect, given this economy, it can be had for less

but will need to see one in person

We've sold a handful. Its a simple, heavy graden tractor that should last for years. The center discharge is slick and works really well. They make a few center discharge models, they build them here in the USA... but they export them for sale in Europe. No idea why they don't sell them here.
