Kubota g1900 Cranks but wont turn over

/ Kubota g1900 Cranks but wont turn over #21
Hello,

Hoping someone can help as my model cant be towed to get it on a trailer.
Unit cranks but wont start.
Replaced battery, replaced rectifier (what the dealership told me to do but didnt solve problem), i get ~ 7 volts at glow plugs when cranking but nothing in on position. Glow plug dash light doesnt work and never has since i have owned it. Its not see voltage in on position. Fuel solenoid doesnt see any voltage in on position. Glow plugs all show about .9 ohms.
-------------------------------

Really appreciate any help that is offered.

How do you normally activate the glow plugs before starting?

Is the fuel solenoid valve open with voltage or closed with voltage?

i had it at the dealer for this problem and they confirmed that this model doesnt have a release for the transmission. Apparently, they changed that shortly after my model was made.

Check anyway, my G2160 has it and the transmission breakdown for both early and late versions of the G1900 and the G2160 has the spool and other parts with the same part numbers. It is next to the drain on the HST section.

My dealer told me it there was no way to tow and it did not exist but it is there.

Is there a compression release on this tractor if so check under hood and make sure it isn't stuck open
this might be your trouble.

I dont know what a compression release would look like but i dont see anything that i can open IMG_2002 (1).JPG

zero smoke comes out. Althought when it does work, it cranks and then a big black plume comes out when it turns over and then no smoke after that.

if you do not have continued grayish smoke from the exhaust while cranking probably have no fuel to the cylinders, or a total lack of compression. probably fuel... so my suggestion is to use some starting fluid in the air intake prior to the air filter. DO NOT get carried away with this! just a small shot about a second apart while cranking if the engine fires off then you know you are missing the fuel to the cylinders. do that and let us go from there.

OK thanks for the pics... this helps... see the fuel solenoid it is a eletro-mag some times they move but do not move far enough... take some wire or a bungee and pull that lever over as far as it will go toward the solenoid, then try to start it again.

i put the key in the on position. I hear some ticking sounds with is maybe the fuel pump? Then i crank it.
I just pulled the hose that comes out of the top of the fuel filter and goes in to the enginer. When i put the key in on postion, fuel poured from it so, i am inclined to believe i am getting fuel to the engine. I checked the fusible line (again), i did continuity test on as much as i can find.

What about the glow plugs?

OK on the fuel, but you need to loosen the fitting on one injectors to see if it is getting there.

fuel out of the top of the filter does not mean its getting through the injection pump which supplies a governed amount fuel to the cylinder at a specified time. in your picture that a re-posted i drew images of what i described to insure the fuel is on inside the injection pump.
also do you understand the starting fluid procedure?
just trying to eliminate possibilities.
my Dodge PU has the same fuel shutoff type of solenoid and it was allowing start but not driveability or any power.... took me about 30 mins to figure it out.
one more thing i noticed in your pics... there is an open connector above the solenoid... is there a wire that should be connected to that (white) connector?

it looks like to me that the yellow wire should be plugged in to that white connector?
