How hard is it to change the spindles and bearings on a 60" Kubota Rear Finish Mower?

What should I expect the parts to cost?

What is the approximate value of a used 60" Kubota Finish Mower with bad spindles and bearings?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you know the model number of your mower?

Don't know for sure, but I think it is a RFM-60. I would have to check it out this weekend to know for sure.

My guess at the cost of the spindle assemblies will be about $100 each. When I replaced them on my Woods mower the cost of buying whole new assembles wasn't much different than buying all the parts to rebuild them.

Yellowyj when I replaced a single spindle assembly this past summer I believe the cost was 80 bucks per assembled spindle. Its a piece of cake to do the labor yourself. Replacing the worn spindles, sharpening the blades, and replacing the belt(s) will put you back in "like new" condition for mowing.

I'd be looking at all three spindles as well as the idlers and belt. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Take the belt off and spin all spindles and idlers that the belt rides on and feel for irregularities in sound and touch as you slowly spin them. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif You might find one that isn't in much better shape and as long as you are there fix those also. You should check the deck too for weak spots. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Some times the continual friction will wear thru and cause a weak spot and a failure on the deck.
