Kubota F1900 outfront mower gearbox

The gearbox on my RC48F19 out front mower has shredded itself (seal failed, oil drained out).
Dealer has quoted a tonne of money to rebuild the gearbox.

I've found Snapper replacement gearboxes for around $200.

Does anyone have any experience either repairing the Kubota gearbox or using the Snapper gearboxes ?

Buying the new Snapper gearbox looks very attractive compared to paying the dealer for a repair job.

Yikes. The gear box seals are on a schedule to be routinely replaced on my Kubota ZD mowers.

I am not familiar with F1900 / RC48F19, but had to find an alternative to the gearbox in my F3060 / RC72R-F30 mower.

Does the gearbox look like this, or is it the proprietary model they started using later?

My solution was new $150 gearbox from eBay:

90 Degree Bevel Gearbox on Kubota F3060 - 72" Rear Discharge Deck


I have seen some of the later model alternative aftermarket gearboxes on the eBay also, so it's worth checking out.
