Kubota L48
Hey guys, I'm new the site...

I have a Kubota L48 and was working with it and it started loosing power, big rpm drop any time I moved anything. After a few minutes of that it quit and now it will only putter a few seconds before it dies when I try to start it.

I checked the basics, it's getting fuel and no major clogs in the air filter. I have plenty of time on gas motors but am new to diesels. If it was a gas engine I'd say it was crappy fuel or carb problems.

Any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated...

Thanks, Nate

Nate,

Go to the injection pump and check the solenoid for full movement. Even if paritally moved, the engine might run but with little or no power.

Especially since this happened without any provocation on your part, something may have come loose or is holdinig the linkage.

One last thought, I think there is a manual shutdown lever on the side of the pump as well - check it also.

Good luck!
