Mowing Kubota diesel overheating.

   / Kubota diesel overheating. #173
I had the same issue on my Kubota, as 4570man said, the belt had worn down to the point the belt had bottomed out in the pulley. it never made a sound as it slipped on the pulley but it wasn't turning the water pump fast enough to keep the coolant flow equal to engine speed. looking at it i noticed the top of the old belt was even with the top of the pulley groove. when I put the new belt on, the belt sat about a 1/16" above the pulley rim which meant the new belt was grabbing the sides of the pulley groove and not ridding on the bottom of the pulley groove, once it reaches that point the belt is shot, got your monies worth and time to replace.

Have seen many overheating problems in small diesels with weak injectors. A dry cylinder will do exactly what you have going on. Being used to larger diesels I found it odd but it is common in non-American builds.
