Kubota L3130
Im considering a L3400. I would have to go through KCC and was wondering if anyone knew how strict the were on approvals. I do not have bad credit, no bankruptcies or late payments. My score is in the low 600's simply because of some high balance credit cards /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Would it help to go joint with my wife to show her income as well. I think she is in the 600's also. I didnt know if they make a decision on the score alone or look at your overall credit history. I just would like to know if my chances of approval are good before I get denied and have another inquiry and drop more points. Has anyone else been denied?

They are moderatly strict. The approval is almost entirly computerized so sob stories make no difference. The best way to do it is file as an individual and list a spouce as a co-buyer or additional income source

I don't mean to go against what Messick said, but I think they are pretty liberal. When I bought my first tractor a few years ago I hadn't held a "real" job in 6 months and when I traded up to an L3130 last year, my business wasn't showing a noticeable profit yet.
I thought they just went by credit history.

Thanks for the input. I spoke to the dealer today and have decided to switch to the GL 3130 instaed of the L3400. I want the shuttle shift that doesnt come on the L3400 and dont want the HST. I was qouted 16600 on the GL3130 4x4 fst with loader. As for the credit approval I guess we will just have to see.

Well I just got approved /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Guess I was worried for nothing. Heres what Im getting, is it a good deal? Grand L 3130 4x4 shuttle shift with 513 loader Ag. tires for $15975. They wanted $900 for R4 tire upgrade and $700 for loader upgrade. I had to pass.

Moderatly strict was an over statement... its better to say that if you have any strikes on your credit report its usually reflected. I have had a few customers with 2-3 late payment (or so they say) and they are offered standard rate.

New Holland is less strict than Kubota, they often raise down payments and offer standard rate for marginal customers. They also will do odd payment schedules and and bend over backwards to get you somthing, Kubota is take it or leave it.

Since Billj74 has gotten an approval its kinda a moot point but for others looking at this thread I'm not sure why Messickfarmequipment would say that Kubota was strict I thought maybe conflict because he's a dealer but if you look at his website they sell a lot of equipment including Kubota.
I took delivery of a Kubota M9000 in November plus $20,000 worth of addons and implements and The only financial information that I gave them was that I made $200. a month yes two hundred dollars, I was after the 0% interest for 3 years and so I had to be a little flexible my original offer was 10% down they kicked it back refused, I then had my sales person call them and asked what downpayment would they require to offer me the 0% they responded back at 25% they'd consider it so I had my sales guy round off all the figures and offered them what turned out to be about 30% to make my monthly payment exactly $1,000. per month for 3 years. They snapped it up without a problem and wallah I'm the proud new owner, They have been a joy to work with and I still don't know who signed the approval for me but all they had was the $200. that I make a month to go by no bank balances, nothing, now I'd say thats pretty liberal almost too liberal how does that guy at Kubota Credit figure I can come up with a $1,000 per month with my reported salary which is absolutely a true statement thats what my monthly income was then and since Sept 11th 2001 as my printing business has taken some pretty good hits since then. Anyway I'm sure that my story is one out of a thousand but Kubota Credit has been very good to me so don't be afraid of making the offer as you can see they are willing to work with you just think positive thoughts. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would describe KCC as "conservative" when it comes to approving deals. It has changed somewhat with the move of all KCC approval processes to Atlanta. Now, many of the applications are machine reviewed and approvals are returned faster.

Don't get me wrong, they are a great company and offer good financing terms to many, many people. In the scope of the other companies that we work with they are more stringant about the people they take than some others. I am not speaking down about them in any way... just making generalizations.

I know that 5 years ago when I bought my tractor, the dealership told me that averaged about 55-60% acceptance with non-commercial customers, and that always had local banks ready as back up. I was happy to be approved.
