Hi

I have been very suprised at the lack of Kubota Company
input on this forum. I would have thought Kubota would
have used this board as an execellent communicative
method to reach the thousands of loyal and appreciative
owners.

Why doesn't Kubota have someone providing techanical
information and assistance? Looks to me like they are really
missing the boat.

Now there is a question that has been asked a bunch of times. If I were to make a guess, I would guess it has to do with liabilities. If someone representing the company were to respond here, with out going through the legal, engineering, customer service, service, and all the other departments here and in Japan, someone here would go to their dealer and say, “Well Kubota told me………….” It would also undermine there dealer network to an extent. I agree that it would be nice to have a better source of information, maybe someday. I also would bet my Kubota coffee mug that someone at headquarters looks in now and then to see what we are talking about./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I agree with Mark that Kubota probably sees its dealer network as their primary portal to the customer base. The other good point he makes is that Kubota may look in at this forum (and others) - it's a kind of free market research so they'd be wise to take advantage of it. But they'd have to steer clear of offering technical advice here - it would step on too many toes.

The internet offers an opportunity for an independaent gathering point. It acts as a valuable connector among the customers, who some manufacturers (like GM for instance) dearly hope never become a connected group. Companies making higher-quality products (like Kubota) do well to watch the user groups quietly from the sidelines, taking the occasional hint from what's developed there.

I got a 30 day survey from Kubota a mere 90 days after the purchase. I questioned the timing of their survey. I also blasted them on the lack of air flow on the B7500 and said they should correct the problems.

I sent Kubota an email regarding use of synthetic oil in the trans and they did call back - 4 weeks later. Even though the response was late they actually called me and responded to my questions. The guy knew his stuff. Of course by the time he called I already had about 20 hrs on the new synthetic oil.
I contacted Kubota cause the local dealer did not know anything other than Kubota UDT.

I don't see a problem as long as the tech information was based on the companies recommendations. Most companies of this size maintain databases of technical information from which to draw from. I would think it would be very appropriate for them to use this forum. If nothing else, they should set up a link to this site as there is a world of information here from which anybody considering a Kubota would be delighted to read to help them make up their mind. After all a strong base of support as well as the quality of the machine is what attracts most people to a product.

Other companies (some PC makers for example) monitor such groups and actively respond (actually pay persons for doing exaclty that). Not only does it give them a chance to make customers happy, many times, the manufacturer doesn't have a good idea who their customers really are (products sold through dealers)... Forums like this give them a chance to interact directly.

Seems like it would be a good idea for Kubota...

I currently have a problem with the hydraulics on my B7200 HST withe power steering. I have tryed to get answers from 3 dealers and have email Kubota themselves. No answer. Someone should know something.

this is interestint as I have been trying to get a lift problem resolved for some six months now. The dealer gave no support and Kubota has known about the problem for over two years. They refusr to put anything in writing and only do Phone calls so they can denie anyting they say, The Atlanta office defered to Torrance Ca and I finall had to go to Japan to get any response. My next step is legal action if my problem is not resolved. The feild rep has lied on more than one occasion and they have left parts off my unit after attempting to repair on three diffrent occasions. Document everthing you do and everyone you talk to you may need it. The dealer quit selling the M8200 because of this problem but failed to tell me about it when I bought mine. He knew he was selling me a problem. Beware and check closely and ask lots of questions
