Mine has never really locked in the top position. When I take it off I can lock the linkage in the top position but I have to lift up on it to get it to do that. I tried the adjustment thing on mine, it didn't help. With me its not really an issue, it goes up pretty high without being locked in top. But I get it, its brand new and should work.
