Kubota?
Hi everyone I am going to buy a tractor Monday.
I am torn between the smaller Bx2360 or Compact 2320

What I have is 2 acres half flat and half somewhat sloped .
I want to use it to plow a small area some trenching , clean up push snow. Lite lifting and general farm work.
I have driven both and really like both but am leaning towards the 2320 but am worried about the turning and ride height .
I live in the sticks though and there is a lot of manzanita that I am ripping out so

I just don't want to get to much or to little and there is only about a 1500 difference in cost.
Plus the 2320 just feels like a real tractor the BX drives and handles great but doesn't feel as much so.
I want to keep this thing a long time and want to make sure if I do go with the BX it is quality and will hold up ,
I just want to make the correct decision.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Yes, Kubota BX machines are real tractors, just small. Most are used primarily for mowing. Just 9" ground clearance.

The B2320 is more capable than the BX2360. Reliability will be the same if both have HST. I would expect a geared B2320 to require occasional clutch replacement over the years.

You say you will keep the tractor a long time. Spend the extra $1,500 and get the B2320 or even better get a B2620 so you will have a three range HST transmission, rather than a clutch and gears. Anytime work on hills or moving snow is involved an HST transmission is preferred. If you opt for an Front End Loader an HST transmission is preferred. Kubota has a great reputation for their HST transmissions.

A Front End Loader (FEL) is the single most useful tractor option.

My initial recommendation would be the 2320 over the BX since your intended use did not include mowing,
but the BX would certainly be capably of performing the other listed tasks you did mentioned and have equal longevity.
However; what are your concerns with the 2320 in regards to turning and riding height ?
Stability on the hills ? Maneuverability in tight places ?
If so, your dealer should allow you to try out the 2320 on your property, before any final commitments.
If your dealer won't, that might be a good indication of future dealer support issues.

Go for the b2620... Also you can fill rear tires with rim guard or similar product if you are concerned with tractor being tippy.

Do you want a backhoe ?

I agree with Jeff, go up to the B26, in a tractor that size, a third range will be a big help with hydro.

Thanks everyone.
I do not need a back hoe. Yeah it would be nice but I will not get the $$$ out of it. Not that the B2320 Felt unstable. Just I will be manuvering thru brush and trees at a slight angle. I felt driving the BX yeah no problem. The B I had a few concerns. However I liked the B more. I can make the B work but either way I would hate to get the wrong one.

bp fick. thanks for the link I will check it out.

It looks like the Bx is Hst.
I do recall he mentioned the B2320 was much easier for implements

Mainly I will be using a box scrapper and I have a huge gopher problem so I need to run something thru my field that will go deep enough to get em.
at least 14" I would think.
Sorry about the questions. I have never had a tractor before.
I did get to drive both at the dealership which is also in the hills here so I got a good taste of how they both drive on a slope and flat land.
The people there where great.
I think which ever I choose I will like at least that is a positive.

BX is too low for woods

My impression...having owned a new BX2660for three years and then a new B2620 for the past two years In short, I wouldn't go back to the BX for several reasons. One is ground clearance wherein one can easily slide under the B for maintenance and inspection. And that same ground clearance keeps me from worrying about fan/undercarriage damage when in rocky and brush laden ground.

The BX performed all my chores without a hitch even though it was my "learning curve" tractor. Traction was is not an issue with the B even though I bought chains for the B since it had R4 tires vs the turf tires on the BX (the turf tires worked well in snow under the same conditions) viz., using a rear blade and the FEL. I would fill the tires or preferably buy wheel weights for the B if I thought it was necessary. But so far, I have seen the need.

IIRC I put over 300 hours on the BX doing a lot of mowing and gravel/rock/dirt moving and tree removal using MMM, FEL, and Pallet Forks and Plow. And now have over 200 hours on the B doing the same chores. Neither tractor gave me a major problem nor was a service call needed. Oh yeah...I forgot the 3 speed HST and foldable ROPS.

The BX traded in at a fair price on the B purchase.
Cheers,
Mike
