Kubota BX-25 backhoe bucket options

The tractor should be delivered Friday and it is coming with the 12 inch bucket. I would like to get a second bucket in the 6-8 inch range without teeth. Is my best option to go back to Kubota to get that or ar there aftermarket options? I searched the forums and web without muc h luck.

Congrats on the tractor!!! Do you have a specific purpose for a 6-8" bucket?...What you may find is that the 12" bucket is plenty small and you may actually want to upsize that a bit depending on your use.

The smaller bucket will be used for detail landscaping work (landscape block and rock work, grading, etc). Hence removing the teeth. I promise to take some pics. Will include pics of my Farmall 105U delivered in July.

I would have to look but I think the teeth can be unbolted on the Kubots buckets so if a 12 inch size is OK just remove the teeth

Small buckets are nice, but tend to stick when your dumping.

if anything my 12" is TOO small. Soil sticks to it something fierce.

Kubota does have a smaller 10"? trenching bucket. Kubotas buckets are well made in my experience.

If you want a flat bottom, you can drill the teeth and bolt a piece of plate across them, or just completely remove the teeth and use the existing holes. Leaving the teeth on gives you a bit more reach. I wouldnt go without the plate however, as the lip on the buckets is a bit thin.

I think the end of the dipper arm with pins and bushings may be more than 6" wide so I'm not sure a bucket that small would work very well. As was mentioned before, the teeth do unbolt. You could make a 6" wide cutting edge that would bolt onto the teeth holes in the bucket. Are you getting a thumb for the BH?

Yes, I will probably grab the wallenstein thumb at some point. I know that the teeth are removable on the Kubota buckets, I just think it would be easier to pin on another bucket rather than remove the teeth from the bucket that I am always digging with.

Actually, the teeth are an easy remove & replace item with the right wrenches. I'd try doing the teeth before spending the $ if all you want is a toothless bucket.

I pop the teeth off often enough for the same reason you mentioned...

I have a BX25D-TLB with a 8 inch bucket (Model BT2930A) it has removable teeth, It's great for removing stumps and gereral planting around the house. I would love a straight edge for the bucket for trenching. Check out BX Expanded they make a narrow trencher bucket with flat edge they make great accessories for the Kubota's
