kubota bx1850
I just recently bought a 2007 bx1850. Today it will not start. I turn the key over and nothing, no clicking to let me know the fuel pump is working. The gauges work but nothing. Im thinking bad battery since theres no clicking to let me know the pump is working. Does the pump click when there is a safety switch open like the pto, seat, neutral lever. Im at a loss here, we just purchased a home and needed a tractor. we bought this used kubota bx1850 and took delivery 9 days ago, by a reputable dealer that does not have warranty on its used equipment. any help would be great.

thanx

The fuel pump will run/click when the switch is turned on. The safety switches won't affect the pump. Did you try jump starting it? Are you sure the PTO isn't turned on? Are you holding the parking brake on?

Thankyou for your reply, yes the pto is off, its in neutral and the parking brake is on and being held by the brake lever. Im going to try a jump pack tonight. Thankyou very much and I will let you know how I make out.

The fuel shut off solenoid should click when you turn the key.

For your case check, fuses, battery charge and connections, (both ends), all control settings & switches and check the fuel filter. Next try and start, boost with, without battery if required. Also pull and reset relays. You may also jiggle any control lever/pedal while attempting to start.
After that and no joy others here will have a proper solution.

On my Bx1850 a small stone got wedged in between the tranny housing and the PTO linkage pushing it sideways just enough that it would not properly activate the safety switch. Probably a one in a million occurrence but it happens. I don't remember if this stopped the fuel pump or not.

I agree with Egon to check the battery and cable connections on both ends of each cable.
