Just bought a used tiller today - the BL60C that's in great shape except that it needs new tines. I knew it wouldn't be cheap to replace 36 tines but Kubota wants $14.95 each for those things !!!! That's $538 for a set of tines plus our 9.75% sales tax, over $600 !!

The tines appear to be very generic - and since I got home tonite I've been trying to find aftermarket tines for it. It might help if I knew what company made it for Kubota - it's made in Italy. Anyone here know who built it or even better yet know where I can get tines much cheaper ?

I'm going to hazard a guess here ( and it's just a guess) that your tiller was made by Maschio for Kubota. Maschio is one of the biggest tiller manufacturers in the world and make for many other companies to re-brand. Worth checking out, but being from italy, not likely their own tines will be any less expensive! You could try checking for replacements at http://www.rotomec.com/tillerblades/contactus/thankyou.htmlhttp://rotomec.com/usa/.

Yes, I've been checking Italian manufacturers to see if I could find which one built for Kubota, and Maschio was one I looked at but theirs doesn't look quite like mine. Doesn't mean anything though, they still could have made it. It just so happens I also bought a used 6' Maschio finish mower in great shape yesterday when I purchased the tiller. The mower was built in 2006, looks like it has low useage and I just have to sharpen the blades and it's ready to cut. Looks like a fairly well-built mower. Got it for $400.

While researching last nite I found that CCM deals with alot of this imported equipment and I sent off an email to them to see if they offered some aftermarket tines at a more reasonable price. I can see having to pay maybe $5 or $6 for them but $15 is ridiculous.

Call Agri-Supply, They could have them. Their store brand blade is like $4 each. I built up a couple of the grey market tillers and rebuilt the rotor shaft to take KK tines. I had to weld new flanges on the rotor. Measure and see if your bolt holes will cross to a different brand. There was an outfit call "Tiller Blades" and theres were like $3 each, don't see a site for them now. bjr

The link I suggested above is aka Tiller Blades! If you type in tillerblades.com you get redirected to rotomec. :)
