I'm considering buying a 2002 Kubota B7500 with 302 FEL, MMM, hydro trans, and Curtis cab with heater. It has 138 hours and turf tires. A private owner has it for sale and will take $10.1K. It also includes a 5' back blade. Any opinions on this tractor and deal? Thanks.

Offer him $9500 and see if he'll take it. Sounds like a good deal to me provided it's in good shape.

I would say a pretty good deal. I swapped in my B7500DT a year and a half ago and got 8500 in "trade" for it. but it was gear not hydro and no cab, more hours, no blade, and R4 tires and the smaller loader LA272.. so I would say yes, good deal, grab it.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm assuming you think this is a good tractor? Is there anything I should check or look for when I inspect it? Has the B7500 got a good reputation with few if any repair issues? Reports I read say it is a good little workhorse for 21 HP and pretty stable on it's tires also. Any other info anyone can provide?

Pretty decent little tractor, I traded mine because I wanted hydro, and a little bigger tractor, But don't discount them, they will do a lot. I didn't have any trouble with mine at all. 2002 model, even had original battery in it when traded in 2010. Still started and run every time.

In Ct that tractor would sell for that today no problem !

Look at it - Make up your mind.

At 138 hours it is pretty much new assuming the services were done close to schedule.

Nice tractor, I had the 7510 for a couple of years. It never let me down.

Cheers,

RD

I bought a used B7500 in the summer of 2010 . It has been a great tractor I use it to mow the lawn , push snow , till the garden , and a endless list of chores with the Fel .

I bought mine with 440 hours and have put another 120 on it since I have owned it . They only thing I have done is routine maintenance ( motor oil , blow out the air filter , and change the fuel filter ) .

Price sounds like a good deal .

I would say it is a really good price for my area. I had a B7510 and it was great machine. Check for general condition and ask about the maintenance that done. The hours (138) is so low that it should be a rather short list. If you are going to move snow get chains for the rears. You didn't say what you plan on doing with the machine.

My B7500 is a 2003, still has original battery also. Maintenence (which I do myself) has consisted of the 50 hour service, oil and filter change every year, and coolant changed two years ago.
I use mine for mowing and the loader for moving snow along with dirt and stone. Also a couple hundred pine logs last year. Great little tractor. I think $10K considering all it has and the low hours is a very fair price. See if it has record of the 50 hour service. Also the coolant should have been changed at least once.

I have the B7510, its a 2007 model with 302 hours on it. It has really impressed me, I use it mainly for snow and everything else in the summer. Dirt / manure moving, grooming the horse yard and driveway with the box blade, and anything else I can think off.
So far just routine maintenance, I did replace the SDUT in the front axle with the alternate gear oil and I have had to replace 2 of the smaller hydraulic lines of the loader. Still original battery.
I can confirm it is a willing workhorse and it never ceases to amaze me how well it performs for its size.
That is a great deal, get it now before its gone.

I sure want to thank EVERYONE who has responded to my post. TBN is a super site. Everyone has spoken very positively about the Kubota B7500. I think I'm going to pull the trigger this Saturday on the one I have been considering. I'm anxious to get it, and I'll try to post some photos when I get it. I'm really looking forward to being more active on TBN like many of you have been. Thanks again all of you. One last thing. Even though this tractor has very low hours, 138, is there anything I should look at carefully, mechanically, before I take delivery?

I would just check out everything, and see that it works,, look for leaks, check the hydraulic and hydro filters, and see they are not gray, (original eqpt is gray) any other color is ok, and will have writing on it. If they are the same color as the chassis (kubota gray) then they have never been changed, Not the end of the world, as it only has 138 hrs, but should have been done at 50. Put the blade on the 3pt and see it goes up smoothly, it should. It is and inching valve, and if you move it slowly it will jump up in little 1/4 inch jumps (or appproximately) It does not have position control, but thats not a real big deal. check the loader for all functions. Check the hydro is smooth forward and back.. That's about all I can think of. Good luck, We all think you are getting a pretty good deal, and if you noticed, almost a dozen guys think the B7500 is a good little tractor. I would rather have it than a BX as it has higher ground clearance, which can be very important at times. In 8 years I rode mine pretty hard, and put it away wet, but it never faltered, or complained or ever let me down.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger this Saturday on the one I have been considering....

If everyone else thinks its a good deal too then there's a good chance it won't be there by Saturday. Not sure if you found it on Craigslist or what, but anything that is a 'deal' doesn't stick around. I''d suggest being there tomorrow if you really want it.

Hi guys....just joined TBN. I am looking for a good, reliable 4x4 tractor that has a loader and backhoe on it (homeowner in rural town with 2 acres). I am trying to keep the price below 10K if possible. Here's a local Craig's List ad I found on the Kubota B7500:

For sale is a 2000 Kubota B7500 with LA 272 Front End Loader. Tractor is in great shape, 680 hours, 3 forward gears with reverse; high and low speed transfer case; tractor has 4 wheel drive and locking rear diff. Mid and Rear PTO, hydro lines all good, tractor starts right up and runs as if brand new. Tires are R4 Industrial tires and are not worn, tires are also loaded, giving more stability when using FEL and when on a hill sideways. Light weight and plenty power, can drive over septic w/o problems, good size for homowner or landscaper. Needs nothing, bring it home and put it to work right away. Looking for $9000 or best reasonible offer. Any questions e-mail or call 203-843-2691; delivery can be negotiated.

I see that the other tractor had more options and lower hours for 10K.

Any suggestions?

Eric,

Welcome to TBN.

I think $9K is high. If it had the hydrostatic transmission, the larger loader L302, and less hours, it might be a price worth considering. According to the ad, the seller is open to offers. If you can check the tractor out, you might have a better feel for what you're going to offer. I would think $8-8.5K would be reasonable. The B7500 is a tough little partner. If it has been well maintained and not abused, it'll go a long time. Make sure you try everything mechanical to make sure there are no surprises. (Transmission-shifts in all gears, all gears and ranges functional, no noises; hydraulics work; motor starts easily, doesn't smoke, no blow-by; no leaks; cosmetics; tires; service history; . . .

Only you can decide what you are willing to pay. Do your homework and you will feel fine with your decision. Good luck.
