I have a Kubota B7100. I was hooking up my 4 ft woods rotary mower and noticed there are (2) locking grooves on the tractor PTP shaft. One groove is about 1/2" from the end of the shaft and another is about 1.5" from the end. Which of the locking grooves should I lock the implement U-Joint on? Any assistance will be appreciated. Have a fantastic day and stay cool.

I shove the PTO coupler on the tractor's stub as far as it'll go while holding the locking pin or pulling the collar back, then release the lock and pull it back until it clicks. That way I get as much engagement as the PTO coupler will allow.

Use groove closes to differential, that way (as others mention) you have as much shaft engagement as possible...
