Kubota B7100
I'm in the process of removing my crakshaft in my B7100HSD with the D750-A engine because someone before me had let the throwout bearing problem linger and thereby also wiping out the pilot bushing in the crankshaft. I ordered the WSM service manual and just received it and to my surprise it does not contain an engine section! I've taken the head and oil pan off, now comes the timing case cover. I've done a few engines but never a Kubota. My question is:
Is this straight forward? Do I need to remove the top of the governor assembly and what precautions do I need to take befoer pulling it off? Then from what I see the crank should come out the front after unbolting the rods and mains. Anybody here with prior experience. Thanks.
OH BTW. I have a local machine shop that says they can put the crank in a lathe and bore and bush the end of the crank so the oem pilot bushing can go back in. Thanks again.

Is the crank wiped out or are you pulling it to remove the pilot bearing?

I use a tap and just thread it in to whatever is left of the bearing till it bottoms out on the crank then it will drive out the bearing.

The problem is there's no pilot bushing left and the input shaft started to egg out the crank. I have a new input shaft oredered. Eitherthe crank gets machined or it's junk:mad: I'm looking into insight on removing the Timing Case. If theres anything special to look out for besides just unbolting it and removing. Thanks for any help.

If by the top of the governor you mean the injection pump? You need to remove the stop plate on the side so you can line up the pin on the fuel rack to remove the pump assy and also so you can make sure the pin lines back up in the governor arm on reassembly. The pump will need to come out to remove the fuel camshaft. But I don't think you need to do that if you are just R&Ring the crank. You should be able to remove the idler gear and the oil pump, remove the rods and pistons, remove the rear main seal housing, unbolt the main bearing caps, and slide the crank out the rear of the block.
