can someone help? I have replaced wire harness, OPC controller, changed out one PTO safety switch. All switches check okay. Tractor will start, will run tiller until I put tiller in ground, then it blows the 5 amp fuse even after changing all this stuff.

Hi
Having a similar problem on my B3030. I believe that I have traced the problem to the HST safety switch as it only blows the fuse when working the tractor ie: moving the foot pedal only slightly back and forth causing the switch to be moving constantly. I have ordered a new one, in the meantime I am going to jumper the switch and try that. I believe that the location of the switch picks up all the crap and it is shorting out. Will post further on the results.

Reeseone, Can you tell me where this particular switch is located exactly? I know there is one switch under the seat but not sure where the HST safety switch is located. I thank you in advance.

I believe his talking about the HST pedal position switch which is under the floor board directly under the hst pedal.

Thanks Vic, I know of the switch under the seat (which I disabled) and will have to check for the HST switch. I also think there is another safety switch somewhere above the transmission area which I heard is really hidden. Stanley

Thanks for the reply. Also found that switch to be the problem after spending hundreds of dollars. Working okay now. Thanks again. Tractor Rider

I had a similar problem with my 3030 except that it was the 10 amp instrumentation fuse that kept blowing. As soon as I would turn on the headlights, the fuse would blow and I would lose the lights and all my guages but everything else worked fine. Once I turned the tractor off, it would not start again until I replaced the fuse. (There was no juice to the starter.) This problem went on for a month and then disappeared on its own. Anyone have an idea as to what the problem was and why it disappeared? Thanks very much.

I am having similar problem with my B3030. I thought one of the switches was keeping the key switch from turning over. I had disabled the seat switch and that seemed to fix the problem. But just now the tractor cut off while mowing when my weight shifted in the seat and it won’t start. Normally, the switch makes a click when you first turn it, if the OPC is engaged. Now it doesn’t click first, even though i have taken the seat switch out of the circuit. I’m guessing there must be a short in the wire harness somewhere or either its the key switch. Any ideas?
