Kubota B2410 with turfs
Hi all,

I'm doing the compare between New Holland, Kubota, John Deere and Massey Ferguson. Got the "glossies" for all except the Kubota I'm looking at and the dealer was closed (on a Saturday??). Can anyone tell me a few specifics I'm trying to compare on?

On the B2410 what is the weight of the base tractor (believe that is defined with ag tires)? What is the implement hydraulic pump capacity in gpm? What is the steering pump capacity in gpm? And finally what is the lift capacity of the 3PH. Think I've got all the rest of the details I was looking for.

This exercise would not be necessary, but my Cub dealer has "gone under" and without service/parts I will be making a change over immediately.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin, I don't know the answers, but have you looked at http://www.kubota.com? I think you'll find most of the answers there by going to "products", pick the one you want and go to "specifications".

Kevin,

I also looked at the B2410. It's a nice machine though I forgot the specs. I would strongly encourage you to drive each tractor at least twice!! You might think that you are pestering the dealer but it is his job. You want to be comfortable with this purchase. I drove a 2710 and a L3010 multiple times. One of my main concerns was comfort and leg room. Try em, try em, try em. Even if it's just a short trip through the parking lot.

Hi Bird,

Yes, I have indeed looked at Kubota's web site. Unfortunately, I found it rather lacking as far as spec sheets. All of the others had very detailed specs listed on their pages, but Kubota only listed engine type, horse power, width, length, clearance and a few other items. I could not find any specific info on the hydraulics or some of the other items.

Guess I'll have to wait to get the glossy pamphlets from the dealer for the nitty-gritty details.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Peter,

I certainly agree with you. We would never buy a car or truck without a test drive...and a tractor is as much money!!! The only one I test drove today was a JD 4300. Nice machine. Might be hard to test drive a Kubota though. The dealers here are really back ordered. Not sure if I can wait till they get their order in (March). But if the spec sheets tell me that for the money the Kubota appears to be the best machine, then I'll hold off for sure to drive it before I go with any of the others.

Thanks,
Kevin

Sorry about that, Kevin. 'Tis a sad fact that the specs on kubota.com are greatly lacking in detail.

Hi Al,

What...is that all you could come up with?? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Seriously, thank you very much. That has almost completed my spreadsheet. Now I can have a decent comparison between the 4 machines I'm looking at.

The one real surprise you listed there is the weight of the tractor. I had no idea that the B2410 would be 1000 lbs lighter than the TC25 and the JD 4200. That seems like a lot of difference for "same class" machines?? Mind you the MF 1230 is listed at 1720 lbs...not too far off.

Thanks again for your quick assistance. Now it is time for decisions!! If I could post a copy of my completed spreadsheet I would. Might help out some others who could use seeing the comparison matrix in black and white.

But as Bird, and others, have pointed out many times before, the paper means nothing if the tractor isn't comfortable for you and doesn't feel good!!! Guess the combination is what we are all looking for.

Kevin,
I like a guy that shops with a spread sheet./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I don't know for sure why the NH comes in heavier, but I believe they do. I also believe the Kubota is an honest no tires filled number. The Deere numbers are with the tires filled.
