Kubota B2410
Hi all,

on the back of my B2410 there is the standard hydraulic point for a tipping trailer, but is it possible to fit a return pipe. The reason I'd like this is for using a log splitter. I have a really old log splitter that requires a power feed and return.

If it is possible, where is it piped to, and what will I need?

Cheers.

Come on guys, somebody must know where I can tap into for a return spool. I've got logs to split before nasty wet British winter appears

Cheers

I guess the 1st thing to ask, is there a valve on the tractor or is it on the trailer? Where is it getting the psi from on the tractor? I looked at the parts list and it didn't show any standard hydraulic point. It does show a plate that is around mid point of the tractor, under your right foot. That is where you tie into the psi line and there should be a plug on the trans case some where that is used for the return. If not, you have to use the fill plug.

Well the log splitter I have has it's own two way valve, so once you're piped up to pressure the other side of the ram will need to dump back to tank.
On the back of the tractor there is a block that looks like something can be connected. Is this pressure or return?

That looks like the option kit and the plate is high pressure and I would think the other plug would be the return. That kit lets you add rear remotes. it's strange there is not valve hooked to it. Why would someone pay for the kit and not go ahead and put the valve on?

Your user's manual shows the rear outlet on page 40 and labels the flow. There is a Kubota part you can buy that attaches directly to that port and provides two hydraulic connections. If you call Messick's they can help you, that's where I got mine.

If it really needs to dump back to the tank, you can do that in the rear fill port. I have that situation with a post pounder, I made a fitting that goes into the fill port and allows the return line to connect directly. You should check the flow requirement, I can't see the return flow being that critical on a splitter, all it could do is restrict the travel speed of the cylinder a little bit, but it's not using inertia to split the log so what difference would it make.

The tractor came from a small council in Wales. Apparently it had a snow plough and salter on it, and looks as though it has spent it's life waiting for the snow. I'd imagine there was a valve that powered the plough, but I can't see any evidence of it. You wouldn't happen to know what the part number is for the remote kit would you?

This is where I get stuck. I don't have a user manual, but will be calling somewhere on Monday to try and get one.
As for calling Messicks, unfortunately I'm in the UK and it seems to be harder to get the information over here. I'm very appreciative of your help though.

Cheers
